Combined Effect of the Tropical Indian Ocean and Tropical North Atlantic Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly on the Tibetan Plateau Precipitation Anomaly in Late Summer

چکیده
Abstract Precipitation variability over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) depends largely on atmospheric circulation pattern associated with remote oceanic forcing, while contribution of sea surface temperature anomalies (SSTAs) in different ocean basins, especially tropical North Atlantic (TNA), remains unclear. By using multisource data and general model, this study reveals individual combined effects Indian Ocean basin mode (IOBM) TNA SSTA interannual TP precipitation late summer (August). During positive phase IOBM, warm SSTAs induce an anomalous anticyclone Bay Bengal (BOBAC) via Kelvin wave–induced Ekman divergence a resulting anomaly southeastern TP. Simultaneously, eastward-extending wave triggered by overlaps that caused further strengthening BOBAC. In addition, induces easterlies Indo-Pacific, which contribute to thus amplify IOBM affecting precipitation. Moreover, generates westward-extending Walker is responsible for suppressed convection central Pacific, turn triggers Rossby response strengthens As result, strengthened significantly. Particularly, considering 2–3-month lead time SSTA, can be used as predictor anomaly.

The Effects of North Atlantic Oscillation on the atmospheric middle level Anomaly and precipitation of Iran.Case study: west of Iran.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation on the middle levels of Atmosphere and precipitation changes in the West of country. To do this, first monthly rainfall data of 17 synoptic stations of the West Country in period of 30 years from 1984 to 2014 of country were collected from Meteorological Organization. As well as North Atlantic Oscillation...
متن کاملImpact of atmospheric submonthly oscillations on sea surface temperature of the tropical Indian Ocean
[1] Impacts of atmospheric intraseasonal oscillations (ISOs) at submonthly periods (10–30 days) on Indian Ocean sea surface temperature (SST) are studied using satellite observed outgoing long wave radiation, QuikSCAT winds, SST and an ocean general circulation model for the period of 1999–2004. The results suggest that submonthly ISOs can cause significant 10–30 day SST changes throughout the ...
متن کاملOpen ocean dead zones in the tropical North Atlantic Ocean
Here we present first observations, from instrumentation installed on moorings and a float, of unexpectedly low (< 2 μmolkg) oxygen environments in the open waters of the tropical North Atlantic, a region where oxygen concentration does normally not fall much below 40 μmolkg. The low-oxygen zones are created at shallow depth, just below the mixed layer, in the euphotic zone of cyclonic eddies a...
